The next century journalist

Data visualization is a huge bright spot in journalism, particularly online. Newsrooms want it, and they are hiring. The NYTimes is - as always - leading the way in this with wonderful interactive data visualization like this one or that one. The next century journalist will need to know how to create compelling and meaningful data charts and maps. Interactivity is a huge plus.

Here is a long but worth it video about what data visualization is and how it pertains to our industry. I recommend watching it full screen.
